Responses to MoneyStrong for Life

The Chapman Family

Dear JDCU:

We want to express our sincere thanks to Jean D’Arc Credit Union for sponsoring the “People Helping People” essay contest. It was a great way to encourage elementary students to think and write about the importance of helping others.

Our daughter, Lauren Chapman, is a seventh grade student at St. Michael School in Lowell and also a member of the credit union. She was thrilled to be one of the finalists invited to the State House. The day at the State House surpassed all our expectations. The recognition and encouragement the students received was extraordinary. We enjoyed the company of Ms. Bisson and Ms. Beaulieu and their support. It is a day we and Lauren will never forget.

The “You Did It” cookie from the credit union was very kind. Lauren and her class enjoyed it very much. Also, the pictures from the day at the State House that the credit union sent are wonderful – again our thanks!

We appreciate JDCU’s help reinforcing the important message to our children to help others. It is a wonderful way that the credit union supports the community. Keep up the great work!

Sincerely,
Mary Chapman & Brian Chapman

Dear JDCU Representatives,

Thank you for sponsoring the essay contest. I appreciate the generous gifts, and the photographs are spectacular. I enjoyed Ms. Bisson and Ms. Beaulieu’s company. It was surely one of the highlights of my seventhth grade year and a day I’ll never forget!

Sincerely,
Lauren P. Chapman

Lowell Public Schools

Dear Mr. Cochran
I would like to express our sincere appreciation for your support of the MoneyStrong for Life Fair in which 150 Lowell High School seniors participated. For our students it was an eye opening experience as they learned some really important lessons regarding managing and budgeting their money. It was gratifying to see how seriously they took the event, how focused they were on making the right decisions, and how proud they were when they managed to not only stay within budget but had a little extra left over.

The student surveys at the end of the event made it very clear that they found the fair informative and fun and were unanimous in saying they would eagerly recommend it to next year’s seniors.

I cannot praise Anne-Marie Bisson enough for her enthusiasm and hard work in putting this event together. It was truly impressive how smoothly everything ran and a true credit to Anne-Marie’s organizational skills.

Once again, many thanks from the Lowell High School community for supporting this very beneficial event; one that made our students more aware and better prepared for the choices they will be called on to make as they graduate from high school.

Sincerely,
Roxane JM Howe, Ed.D.

Hellenic American Academy

Dear Anne-Marie,
On behalf of the entire Hellenic American Academy community, especially our grade seven students, I thank you for your contributions to our young people’s financial awareness. Kimberly Beaulieu could not have been more engaging or more well prepared presenting lessons, activities and experiences in “Financial Literacy”. Our students gained knowledge about financial management, banking, saving, investment and use of credit cards, among many other money matters. Kimberly guided and challenged our students both here at our school and at your beautiful, historical business center. This program was very beneficial and greatly complemented our curriculum. I commend the Jeanne D’Arc team and its outreach programs to young people and look forward to future partnerships and educational opportunities. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Doug Anderson, Principal
Hellenic American Academy

Daisy Girl Scout Troop

Hello,
I am a the leader of a Daisy Girl Scout Troop. I have 16 girls ages 5-6. Last night, Kimberly Beaulieu came to talk to our girls about saving, spending, sharing, needs and wants. The children made banks and decorated them.

I just want to say how great a job Kim did. The children learned a lot and really enjoyed themselves. The mothers who came to the meeting were very impressed.

Thank you so much for letting us borrow Kim!
